TARA MULLANEY
+ Accepted a PhD Position at Umeå Institute of Design in SWEDEN! +
I have recently accepted a PhD position at Umeå Institute of Design. My degree will be in Human-centered Product Design, and I will primarily be working on an EU funded project at the local university hospital. I will also continue my master's thesis explorations into emotional connections between products and their users through the use of dynamic materials. However, my project will specifically look at emotionally stressful environments such as the MRI imaging and radiotherapy treatment rooms in Oncology ward of the hospital and attempt to create tools that will make it a more relaxed and inviting place for patients to visit.

More information about Umeå Institute of Design can be found here. Additionally, a brief interview about my project and background can be found here.
